WCO-IOF-ESCEO 2016: Apply for valuable awards and fellowships

If you're a young researcher find out whether you’re eligible for any of these valuable awards: ESCEO-MSD Fellowships, ESCEO-Eli Lilly Scholarships or ESCEO-AgNovos Healthcare Young Investigator Awards.

The World Congress on Osteoporosis, Osteoarthritis and Musculoskeletal Diseases is once again offering three different valuable scholarships for young researchers and clinicians.

The ESCEO-MSD Fellowships, supported by a grant from MSD, are given to young investigators (aged under 40) for their future contributions in the field of bone and mineral research. The ESCEO-Eli Lilly Scholarships are awarded to clinicians born after January 1, 1970 from selected countries. The ESCEO-AgNovos Healthcare Young Investigator Awards are for young researchers born after January 1, 1980 who are from selected countries and are the first or presenting authors of an abstract.

ESCEO-Eli Lilly Scholarships

The value of these scholarships will be:

  • Free registration to the meeting
  • 1,000 USD (if the applicant did not submit any abstract to the Congress)
  • 1.500 USD (if the applicant submitted an abstract to the Congress)
  • Additional free registrations (value 895 euros) will be granted to applicants ranked between 100 and 300.

Eligibility

  • Applicants born after January 1, 1970
  • Recipients will attend the WCO-IOF-ESCEO 2016 in Malaga on April 14-17, 2016
  • Recipients are physicians with a special interest (trained or in training) in metabolic bone diseases and/or musculoskeletal disorders.
  • Recipients are citizens or residents of the following countries:

How to apply

Applicants for the ESCEO-Eli Lilly Scholarships must send an email to Mrs. Sophie Leisten (leisten@humacom.com) at Humacom including:

  • A copy of the applicant's passport or photo ID (with the date of birth)
  • A copy of the abstract (if submission)

Applications will only be validated after the reception of a confirmation email from Sophie Leisten (No exception will be granted).

Submission deadlines

Applications with an abstract: January 15, 2016
Applications without an abstract: February 15, 2016

Scholarships recipients will be selected from February 15, 2016 and notice will be provided no later than February 22, 2016.

The Scholarships will be presented during the WCO-IOF-ESCEO 2016 Congress on Saturday April 16th, 2016 from 18h30 to 19h30. Venue to be confirmed.
Failure to attend the reception will result in the cancellation.

ESCEO-MSD Fellowships

Two fellowships of 12,500 USD each will be awarded at the WCO-IOF-ESCEO Annual Meeting.

Eligibility

Award Recipients must:

  • Be the first or presenting author of the abstract
  • Be less than 40 years old

The above eligibility criteria include students or trainees who have not yet obtained their doctoral degree. These fellowships would be selected based on submission of the proposed research to be conducted.

  • A copy of the submitted abstract
  • A short CV (2 pages maximum)

ESCEO-AgNovos Healthcare Young Investigator Awards

The value of each of these awards will be 2.500 EUR

Eligibility

  • born after January 1, 1980
  • must attend the WCO-IOF-ESCEO Congress 2016 in Malaga on April 14-17, 2016
  • must submit an abstract which is related to bone strength, bone quality, falls risk, primary or secondary fracture prevention or multi-disciplinary post-fracture care, through the official website (www.wco-iof-esceo.org) and, before the deadline of January 15, 2016.
  • Must be a citizen or resident of: Australia,  Canada, China (incl. HK),  EU, Japan,  Korea, New Zealand, Singapore,  Switzerland or USA
  • Award recipients must be the first or presenting author of the abstract.

How to apply

The applicant to the ESCEO - AgNovos Healthcare Young Investigator Awards must send an email to Mrs. Laura Bechoux (bechoux@humacom.com) at Humacom including:

  •     A copy of the applicant’s passport or photo ID (with the date of birth)
  •     A copy of the abstract submitted through the official Congress website and, before the deadline of January 15, 2016.

Applications will only be validated after the reception of a confirmation email from Laura Bechoux (bechoux@humacom.com) at Humacom (No exception will be granted).

Recipients will be selected based on their abstracts by the ESCEO Scientific Advisory Board during the last week of January 2016 and notice will be provided no later than February 15, 2016.

The Awards will be presented during the WCO-IOF-ESCEO 2016 Congress on Saturday April, 16 (time and venue to be confirmed). Failure to attend the reception will result in the cancellation of the Award (no exception will be granted).
