Launch of Asia Pacific Consortium of Osteoporosis (APCO) website and LinkedIn page

Today, the Asia Pacific Consortium on Osteoporosis (APCO) announced the official launch of its website and LinkedIn page.

Comprising key medical opinion leaders from several countries in the Asia Pacific, APCO is charged with developing tangible solutions to the substantive challenges involving osteoporosis management and fracture prevention in the most populated and fastest growing region of the world.

Today APCO announced the launch of its first website ( and its LinkedIn account (asia-pacific-consortium-on-osteoporosis).

The Consortium currently includes Osteoporosis experts from 19 Asian Pacific countries and regions. The International Osteoporosis Foundation (IOF) is represented by its CEO, Dr Philippe Halbout.

APCO’s mission is to engage with relevant stakeholders, including healthcare providers, policy makers and the public, to help develop and implement country and region-specific programs for the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis, and its complication of fragility fractures, in the Asia Pacific region.

In line with this mission, the new website houses information about the organisation and the important APCO “Framework”. Set for completion in the fall of 2020, the Pan-Asia Pacific Framework will serve to introduce and implement minimum clinical standards for the screening, diagnosis and management of osteoporosis targeting a broad range of high-risk groups in our region.

Importantly, the website also hosts information pertaining to the clinical guidelines currently available in the Asia Pacific region. The website and LinkedIn channel will serve as platforms to share regular clinical updates, information, novel research and developments in the bone health arena with a broad professional audience.

Anyone who wishes to share information via the APCO website or LinkedIn channel, is requested to email the APCO Secretariat at for consideration.
