Winners of the IOF-Agnovos Healthcare Young Investigator Awards
Six young researchers awarded prestigious recognition at the IOF Regionals 7th Asia-Pacific Osteoporosis Conference

IOF is dedicated to advancing scientific knowledge on osteoporosis, and is committed to encouraging young researchers in all parts of the world to focus on this important field.

As a sign of this commitment, the ‘IOF-Agnovos Young Investigator Awards’ were presented to the authors of the six top ranking abstracts submitted to the IOF Regional 7th Asia-Pacific Osteoporosis Conference, in Sydney Australia.  

The following young researchers, aged 40 years old or younger at the time of the Meeting, were awarded a grant of USD 1000 and the opportunity to present their work at a special session on Saturday, December 1, 2018:

  • F. Pan (Menzies Institute for Medical Research, University of Tasmania): Associations Between Pain at Multiple Sites and Prevalent and Incident Fractures In Older Adults (P046)
  • D. Scott (Monash University, Clayton, Australia): Mid-Calf Skeletal Muscle Density and Its Associations with Accelerometer-determined Physical Activity, Bone Health and Incident 12-Month Falls in Older Adults: The Healthy Ageing Initiative (P011)
